PRESS RELEASE
Abandoned pups Hero and Wan Wan need a home
Hero was a one-week-old puppy when he was abandoned in a box at a bus stop. Wan Wan, a female pup, was wrapped in a newspaper and thrown outside a wet market at just a few days old.
Independent dog rescue group Paws Mission has nursed Hero and Wan Wan to health and will be putting them up for adoption, along with 20 other puppies, this Sunday at the IOI Mall in Puchong. The adoption drive will be held at the 2nd floor corridor next to Digital World from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Coordinator Ho Lai Peng said kind Samaritans rescued Hero and Wan Wan about three months ago and requested help from Paws Mission. Hero is all black except for a streak of white on his chest, while Wan Wan is a beautiful golden brown with black streaks resembling a German Shepherd.
“We have been getting more and more cases of abandoned puppies. It is really shocking. Both of them haven’t opened their eyes and were so fragile. We thank our volunteers for helping to nurture them to good health,” Ho said.
“We appeal to the public to neuter their dogs to help curb the stray population and allay their sufferings on the street,” she added.
Ho said Hero and Wan Wan have been vaccinated, and are active and playful. Another 20 puppies, ranging from two to four months, will also be up for adoption on Sunday. Ho said those interested in dogs above a year old can make appointment to visit Paws Mission’s temporary shelter in Old Klang Road to check out some 100 adult dogs available there.
